Summer may be ending, but it’s time to build your PTA team for a great school year.

PTA is a partnership between families, teachers, school staff and administrators and the community.  Making a personal invitation to your different stakeholders can go a long way to assemble your collaborative team for success! 

Now is the perfect time to update your membership invitation letter for school faculty/staff/administrator with a specific message tailored to the school that help our children grow & learn. This is your opportunity to cement this partnership & remind them of all that PTA does for them, the classrooms, and school as a whole. The PTA also supports student learning & builds that relationship between parents and school. and ask for their support through membership.

Mission of the PTA
What does your PTA provide to staff/faculty:

  • Meals, snacks, beverages provided throughout the year. 
  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation
  • Teacher grants, classroom supplies, etc. 
  • Classroom volunteers to support in the classroom, parties, etc.
  • Classroom support: books from book fair, curriculum resources, guest speakers, field trip assistance, etc.
  • Programs that Cultural Arts programs that support curriculum
  • STEM, Literacy, Digital Safety Programs that support that supplement curriculum.

Make a personal ask:

  • Can you put your Invitation letter in staff mailboxes or send an email message to everyone? (or ask Principal/Secretary to help send out for you?). 
  • Ask if President attend a staff meeting and spend a few minutes sharing PTA info, upcoming programs/events, benefits of membership, and ask them to personally join the PTA (or make a short video for them to share if you can’t be in person). 
  • Make sure staff know about any new programs, events, and activities planned for the upcoming year and invite them to come and support PTA and interact with families in a fun setting!
